Internet Marketing For Small Business



So you look at a market your small business on the internet? I know this can feel overwhelming and you're not sure exactly what to do, where to begin or where to go. I completely can understand that. In this video, I'm going to go over a few things that you really need to understand before you start spending money on the Internet.

And I'm also going to share a link at the end of this video of a place where you can go to get help to get all this stuff done. If you're not a pro, you definitely should not be trying to do this on your own. You wind up wasting a lot of time and spending a lot of unnecessary money. So stay tuned.

Welcome back and it's really great to hear that you're looking to get rocking and rolling on the Internet. Times are changing and you got to get online, you got to be on the Internet. People are searching for your business online. If you're not online in a number of different areas, you're absolutely missing out on customers.

I'm going to start off by talking about 3 things that you really need to do before you start wasting your money online. Number 1, you need to make sure that your website is up-to-date modern current and with the times. You also need to make sure that it's user friendly, simple to use. Your information is easily on there.

There's forms and different things where customers can leave their information or get in contact with you. If you're selling stuff online, it's really important that you're creating an amazing user experience. If you're local and you're trying to drive people into your business, then maybe you should be focusing on showcasing the inside of your business on your website.

But if your website's not clean, simple and easy to use. You're just going to waste dollars spend the money marketing online. And remember, your website is the new storefront. You wouldn't let your business look like crap so your website can't look like crap either. People are judging your business by how your website looks.

You may have the most beautiful business, the most modern up-to-date business. So inviting to your customers. But if your website doesn't look good, it's going to turn people away. Because it's your new storefront. Number 2 is reviews. You have to make sure that you have reviews online. On Google, on Trustpilot, on consumer affairs.

On any of the review platforms. On Yelp. Depending on what your business is this will make more sense. On Angie's List. So make sure that you're getting your customers to write reviews and make sure that you're focusing on the different areas that will make sense for your business and your industry.

Think about this: When you're on Amazon, you're spending $10 now you're looking at the reviews and making decisions based on those reviews. So, people, when they're looking you up online, they're looking at those reviews. It's so important to focus on those reviews and ensure that they're good and read those reviews.

If you're getting some bad reviews and they'll point out some areas that you definitely need to focus on in your business. People talk about building a brand but a brand does now come your reviews online. So really think about that. Number 3 is your social media. You have to get all of your social media platforms set up and you have to stay relevant and stay current and constantly posting content, pictures.

Things that are going on in your business. This is also something that you shouldn't be doing. At the end this video, I'm going to drop a link where you can get help with getting all this stuff set up and with also getting help with the constant posting and content that needs to be created and done on a constant basis.

You shouldn't be doing any of this on your own. You can utilize a service now that will help you with your content creation and your ongoing posting. Once you have the first three things set up in order now it's time to start testing different things online to find out what's going to work for you.

The first thing is Google pay-per-click. When you type in Google and search for anything, those 3 to 5 things that come up at the top of the page, those are paid advertisements. And you can get your business up on those ads. That would be a first area that you'd probably want to start testing. Number 2 is social media.

Social media is great depending on your business, depending on what you're looking to accomplish, depending on where your customers are we'll make up which platform you should advertise on. But what's really cool with some of the social media platforms is you can really target people in specific areas and specific demographics.

It's a really great tool to utilize and absolutely something you should be doing if you're a local business. And number 3 is SEO. You might have heard this term before and wonder what it means. It stands for search engine optimization. Basically, it means is designing your websites that are search engine friendly.

So when someone searches you in Google, you come up on the first page. There's also different things that you can do a blog articles and writing. This is a long term commitment you usually won't see instant results from doing this. And this really takes expertise and utilizing someone who has experience in doing this.

I hope these six different points really helped you and gave you a different point of view or more importantly a better understanding of the necessary steps that you're going to need to do to start marketing on the Internet. These are things the absolutely shouldn't be doing. You should be focusing on what you do best in your business and utilizing a company with experience to help get all this stuff set up from your website, to your Google page, to your social media and then start testing some marketing.
